Dr Andrea Cussons
Dr Andrea Cussons graduated in 1996 from the University of Western Australia and undertook postgraduate training at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital in Perth, Western Australia. She then completed a PhD at the University of Western Australia examining cardiometabolic aspects of the polycystic ovary syndrome. After completing her PhD studies she worked as a staff specialist in Endocrinology and Diabetes at Royal Perth Hospital for 8 years. She was appointed to her current position as staff specialist in the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in 2015. Current research interests include female hyperandrogenism, insulin resistance, and the effects of obesity on reproductive health. Clinical interests include multiple aspects of reproductive endocrinology, the management of thyroid malignancies, and transitional diabetes care for young adults.
