2024 CASE STUDY PRESENTERS

 

Daniel Adams - Monash Health, Melbourne

Daniel is an Endocrinology Advanced Trainee based at Monash Health in Melbourne. After graduating from Monash University, he completed his Basic Physician Training at Monash Health. He has completed a Bachelor of Medical Science with previous publications on the role of ethnicity in cardiac risk assessment. Daniel is broadly interested in clinical endocrinology, research and education.

 

Stephanie Baddock - St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney

Dr Stephanie Baddock is currently a second year Endocrine Advanced Trainee working at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, having completed her first year of training at The Canberra Hospital. Stephanie has broad interests within the field of endocrinology including type 1 diabetes mellitus and pituitary and adrenal disorders.

 

Sarah Dixon, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane

Sarah is a second year Endocrinology Advanced Trainee at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. She graduated from the University of Queensland in 2017. Sarah completed her first year of Advanced Training at Sunshine Coast University Hospital having spent her formative years at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. Her clinical and research interests include metabolic bone disorders, adrenal disease and gender-affirming medicine. She has a keen interest in medical education and is affiliated with the University of Queensland. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, walking with her golden retriever and baking.

 

Kirsty Fisher - Fiona Stanley Hospital, Murdoch, WA

Kirsty is a third year Endocrinology Advanced Trainee based at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth. After graduating from the University of Otago in New Zealand, she immigrated to Perth and completed her advanced training in General Medicine in 2022. During her time in General Medicine, she developed a keen interest in Endocrinology and decided to pursue dual training. She has a broad interest in all aspects of clinical endocrinology, with a particular interest in women’s health.

 

Maria Hormiz - Austin Health, Melbourne

Maria is an Endocrinology registrar at Austin Health in Melbourne. She completed her medical training through Monash University in Melbourne and is interested in all aspects of Endocrinology and Diabetes. She is passionate about education and has been a University of Melbourne affiliated tutor. Maria enjoys contributing to research and has multiple peer-reviewed publications.

 

Edward Mignone - Central Adelaide Local Health Network, Adelaide

Dr. Ed Mignone is a first year Endocrine Advanced Trainee based in Adelaide. Spending his early medical years amongst South Australian metro and rural centres, he is passionate about all areas of endocrine research and has a special interest in pituitary related disorders. Currently a member of the ESA Early Career Committee, he also hopes to help support other early-stage researchers and clinicians.

 

Damien Qi - Royal Melbourne Hospital, Melbourne

Damien is completing his final year of Endocrinology training within the Department of Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Victoria. He has come to love the science of Endocrinology, applying this knowledge in providing care to individuals, while also having plenty of opportunities for collaborative learning and educating younger doctors in training. His interests span across diabetes, obesity medicine, pituitary medicine, and bone and mineral medicine, having been involved in abstracts and publications in these subspeciality areas. Next year, he plans to commence a full time PhD in obesity medicine, with a special interest in the clinical use of glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists and incretin hormone analogues.

Outside of Endocrinology, Damien is a full-time dad and husband to his toddler son, Noah, canine son, Ollie, and wonderful wife, Jenny. He loves food and wine and sharing this with friends and family.

 

Arunan Sriravindraraja - Westmead and Blacktown Hospital, Sydney

Dr Arunan Sriravindrarajah, MD, MPH, BCom is a final-year Endocrinology Advanced Trainee at Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals, Clinical Associate Lecturer at the University of Sydney and Adjunct Associate Lecturer at the University of New South Wales. Dr Sriravindrarajah has presented at multiple national conferences including ESA Clinical Weekend 2023, and was awarded most outstanding presentation at the 2023 NSW/ACT Endocrine Meeting and the 2022 NSW / ACT Quality in Diabetes Care meeting. He is a 2024 US Endocrine Society Type 1 Diabetes Fellow. Dr Sriravindrarajah has a strong interest in medical education and was awarded a University of Sydney JMO-Led Teaching Award in 2018.

 

Yamin Trinh - Cairns Base Hospital, Cairns

Yasmin Trinh is a first year Endocrinology Advanced Trainee at Cairns Hospital in Queensland. She graduated from Bond University and completed her BPT training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Mater Hospital in Brisbane. Her clinical and research interests are in metabolic bone disease and pituitary disorders. She is also passionate about teaching and is regularly involved in medical education of junior doctors and medical students.

 

Sneha Vidyasagar - Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane

Dr. Vidyasagar is a final year endocrinology advanced trainee from Queensland. She completed her medical degree at Griffith University  in 2016 and undertook her basic physician training at Mater and Ipswich Hospital. Her endocrine specialist training was conducted at Princess Alexandra, Toowoomba, and Logan Hospital. Dr. Vidyasagar has a keen interest in reproductive endocrinology, pituitary disorders, and diabetes, particularly in young adults with Type 1 diabetes. She has recently published a paper on eating disorders in young adults with Type 1 diabetes. Besides her clinical practice, Dr. Vidyasagar is passionate about medical training and education. She is a member of the Endocrine Society of Australia and the Australian Diabetes Society

 

Holly Wang - Austin Health, Melbourne

Holly is currently completing Advanced Training in endocrinology at The Austin and Northern Hospitals in Melbourne. Originally from Hamilton, New Zealand, she completed Basic Physician Training at Monash Health, and then went on to Advanced Training at Monash Health and Eastern Health in Melbourne. She has completed research in the areas of gestational diabetes and complications of diabetes. She is passionate about broad aspects of clinical endocrinology and research.

 

Lilian Wang - Townsville University Hospital, Townsville

Lilian Wang is an endocrinology advanced trainee at Townsville University Hospital and an honorary lecturer at James Cook University College of Medicine and Dentistry. She completed a Bachelor’s in Biomedical sciences at The University of Auckland and then received Doctor of Medicine and Surgery at The Australian National University. She has an interest in general endocrinology, pituitary and bone health.
